Senior Project Manager

Dragonfly Projects is entering the next phase of its development. We are still a small business. Freddie, Sam & Louisa are the full-time core team. We became an Employer in 2025 and continue to grow sensibly.

This role is being recruited at an important point for the business. We are looking for a Senior Project Manager to join the team, working closely with Freddie, Sam & Louisa, to both maintain and bolster the quality-of-service we provide to our clients across our current portfolio of exciting projects.

We see it as an opportunity to strengthen the business by hiring a Senior PM who can take on service delivery responsibilities to support the current team. It is an exciting time to join a growing business.

About Dragonfly Projects

Dragonfly Projects was founded in 2022 and, while we are now in year five. We are still very much in the build phase of the business.

The business is lean and hands-on, with Freddie, Sam & Louisa as the full-time core of the practice. We are proud of what we have achieved so far,  which has been built through strong relationships, repeat instructions, hard work and an unwavering focus on doing right by our clients.

We are on track to achieve a turnover of £500,000 in 2026 and have a clear ambition to grow beyond £1M by 2028. We want to do that carefully, without losing the standards, values and trust that have got us to this point. We believe in our journey.

The Role

We are looking for a Senior Project Manager to join Dragonfly Projects at a pivotal stage. This role has a dual purpose. In the short term, it will provide continuity of service delivery across existing instructions to support Sam, Louisa and Freddie and improve quality of service.

Additionally, we want this hire to be an ambitious individual, with the appetite to join a business at an exciting stage of its journey, with interest in the longer term, with a will and want to share in the businesses growth ambitions.

This is not a role within a large corporate environment. It is a role in a flat structure, working closely with Freddie, Sam and Louisa, with autonomy, accountability and visibility from day one. The right person will be comfortable joining a start-up environment with limited hierarchy, high visibility and real accountability. They will be energised by helping create structure.

Client & Project Delivery

  • Support the delivery of projects from instruction through to completion, acting as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants and contractors

  • Protect and improve existing client relationships through responsive, thoughtful and commercially sound service delivery

  • Oversee all stages of project delivery, ensuring programmes, budgets, quality standards and project objectives are maintained

  • Advise clients clearly on briefing strategies, procurement routes, consultant appointments, risk, programme and delivery matters

  • Chair and minute meetings, manage project reporting and ensure actions are followed through reliability and attention

  • Ensure Dragonfly continues to act as a trusted extension of the client team, always representing the client’s best interests

Leadership & Team Contribution

  • Step into a senior delivery role within the business, providing continuity across existing instructions and helping maintain confidence internally and externally

  • Work closely with Freddie, Sam and Louisa in a flat structure, contributing to the day-to-day leadership of the practice

  • Lead by example in professionalism, judgement, responsiveness and attention to detail

Business Growth & Client Development

  • Identify opportunities to deepen existing client relationships and convert repeat business

  • Build trusted relationships with clients, consultants, contractors and agents that support the long-term development of the practice

What We Are Looking For

Essential

  • Strong experience leading construction projects from inception through to completion within a project management or related consultancy environment

  • Credibility and judgement to represent Dragonfly confidently in front of senior clients, consultants and delivery teams.

  • A commitment to acting in the client’s best interests and doing the right thing, even when commercially or operationally challenging

  • Experience building and developing long term client relationships, with the ability to support repeat business and contribute to winning new instructions

  • Strong commercial awareness, with the ability to balance delivery quality, programme, risk and client objectives

  • Clear, confident verbal and written communication skills

  • Self-start mindset, with the ability to operate effectively in a lean, founder-led business with a high degree of autonomy

  • A collaborative approach and the maturity to work within a flat structure, close to the founder, while helping build the next layer of the team.

Strongly Preferred

  • An established network within the construction and property sector

  • Experience in commercial office projects, particularly CAT A and CAT B delivery

  • Proficiency in core project management tools and reporting systems, including Microsoft Office and MS Project

  • Professional qualifications and/or a degree relevant to construction, property or project delivery

  • Senior-level experience likely gained over 8+ years in construction project management, consultancy or a related field
